“The music is not in the notes, but in the silence between.”

~ Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

There were many moments of silence as we visited with my mother-in-love yesterday. It was not one of her better days.

Still, there was music

  • in the few words she spoke
  • in the moments when her eyes met ours
  • in her hands reaching for our dog
  • in my husband helping her with lunch
  • in moments of silent prayer

Today, settling into silence and replenishing while Gerry takes a hike.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things.
  1. Thank you.

  2. So lovely Linda . All of this is so true if only we could observe it and you have ??

    1. I am finding such unexpected blessing in these days we spend with my mother-in-love every week.
