“What hath night to do with sleep?”

~ John Milton, Paradise Lost

Apparently very little, Mr. Milton.

I wake before 3am. this morning–for sure this time. I finish my book, and toss and turn for a while until Gerry rouses to take Maya outside around four.

He returns to bed, and to sleep. I give up, and try to start a new book but can’t get into it so grab my iPad and catch up on what’s happened since I went to bed such a short time ago.

At five I turn the coffee maker on.

It’s going to be a long day.

I’m a writer, reader, photographer, and gardener. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things.

  1. I blame it on a full moon …no howling jokes please . It does have an effect on women . A great blog to try is cauldrons and cupcakes , Nicole often talks of the moon and it’s benefits.
