I love you more than I love goats, and you know how I feel about goats”, Gaby said.
James Patterson, The Christmas Wedding
Lunch with Gerry’s brother and his wife, catching up.
Then a visit to the Rogers flour mill to stock up on dry goods.
My husband, knowing the soft spot I have for goats, suggests a detour before we head for home.
Ten or fifteen minutes down a meandering countryish road and there they are: the sweet faces that capture my fancy every time.
We stay a while, I get my goat fix, then we continue on in search of fruit. We buy cherries.
We stop at the garden to harvest a salad before heading up the hill toward home.
It’s a simple day of immeasurable worth.

Today, summer returns and the deck beckons.
But first, an appointment in town and perhaps a walk in a park or two with my husband and our cameras.
I need to tend to those cherries too.
And writing.
Simple happy.
