“Life kisses our faces every morning.”

~ Kahlil Gibran

Sweet morning.

Possibility and peace rest lightly with the first waking moments.

Windows open, slight breeze dancing with the curtains, and the air so fresh I feel as if I could go outside in my nightgown and dance barefoot on the dewy lawn.

It’s quiet; my husband and Yorkie, both still breathing deep in sleep, two calming metronomes. The sound of distant traffic hums and I am thankful to not be not rushing off somewhere in these first precious moments of the day.

I rest and I rise–these things not contradictory but, in the magic of the morning, complimentary.

Day begins.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.

  1. Good Morning! Such a pretty picture. I am thankful for the quiet of early morning. I am an early riser and I enjoy watching the sun come up!
Wishing you a very nice day.

  2. This time of year I’m usually up by 4:30. Love watching sunrise! Such majesty and promise in those moments.
