Wednesday, November 16, 2016 – Note Cards

“If you want to change the world, pick up your pen and write.”

I’ve always believed in the power of the written word to heal, transform, entertain, and elicit understanding. Journals, books, stories: all gifts for the writer who crafts them and, when put out into the world, for the reader.

Sending note cards is another way the written word can make a difference. It takes such little time and effort to jot a couple of sentences in a card, and yet this small thing can have a big effect on someone’s day.

I was blessed to receive a few cards from thoughtful friends this year. That someone took the time to pen a short note and drop it in the mail was much appreciated and a bright point of my day. I resolved to be better at sending notes of encouragement and I’ve been thinking for some time about creating note cards with my some of my photographs to do so.

Today, I’m pleased to let you know that the first eight cards are available to purchase! Details about the cards available now, including pricing, are here: https://lindahoye.com/shop/. (There’s also a new tab in the blog menu.)

Whether you choose to use my cards or not, I hope you’ll consider joining me in an effort to be an encourager. It’s simple gestures like this, things we can all do, that can play a part in changing the tone of the world we live in. I’m certain of it.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.

  1. A beautiful message Linda. I love sending them as much as receiving them – maybe more. Putting your work on the cards will surely bring sunshine to so many.

    1. I love that so many are returning to the practice of sending written notes, don’t you?!
