“I think we all have a dream of what it would be like not to work and grow heirloom tomatoes, and I do have that dream. It would be lovely.”

~ Helen Mirren

I had that dream. And living it is, indeed, lovely.

I still work; it’s just different work. Wonderful work. Satisfying work.

My heirloom tomatoes are piling up again so I’m heading back into the canning kitchen today.

Oh! And making bread, because one must enjoy as many tomato sandwiches as possible at this time of year.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.
  1. That is the most beautiful tomato I’ve ever seen. And I never thought I’d say something like that! 🙂

    1. Welcome to the dark side where we find immeasurable beauty in produce, Karen!! Ha ha!
