Are you as relieved as I am to have the holidays behind us? December was one of those “interesting” months for me–one of those “best of times, worst of times” kind of thing.
It started off very difficult for me for reasons I won’t go into, but things changed mid-month when our granddaughter came to spend a week with us. That week, right before Christmas, was definitely of the “best of times”. We all had a blast!
Christmas Day was another highlight. as we spent a wonderful day in nearby Vernon with Gerry’s family.
I’ve been struggling with a health issue since Boxing Day and ended up taking a trip to the local ER. I’m abundantly thankful that the issue didn’t surface when our sweet granddaughter was with us so, in this as in all things, there is something to be thankful for.
Today, on this first day of a new year I am taking it slow. A cold snap has settled in and it’s snowing lightly. I’ve got a pot of soup is simmering on the stove and I’m taking a bit of time to catch up on a few things in my office. Some projects are temporarily on hold while I wait for my health concern to resolve leaving me with time to reflect about the year that was and the year that is to be. All in all, not a bad way to spend this New Year’s Day.
I hope this year finds you well–thankful for that which is now past and filled with anticipation for what lies ahead. Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, Linda. I hope and pray your health issues are resolved soon.
Happy New Year, Marian!
I am sorry to hear you are dealing with health issues and I too hope they are resolved soon. I am glad you had time with your granddaughter and with family. Best wishes for a healthy and happy new year!
Happy–and healthy–2016 to you too, Karen!
Happy New Year, Linda and I hope your health will soon be on track again!
Happy New Year to you too, Sandra!
I’m gathering names of friends, virtual and live, who are struggling with health issues. Your name is on it! Looking at the picture of your lovely granddaughter should be good medicine!
Thank you, Shirley. All seems to be well now. And yes, looking at photos of the precious memories made with my granddaughter do make everything seem brighter!
HAPPY NEW YEAR and stay well, Linda!
