Just popping in to share this seasonal photo of our girl, Molly, share some random stuff, and wish you a Merry Christmas.
I’m finding it difficult to believe tomorrow is Christmas Eve. There’s not a flake of snow in sight or in the foreseeable forecast. What a difference from last year at this time!
(This is a photo I captured from my office window last year on December 25 when a blizzard was raging. We watched multiple cars get stuck on the street and Gerry spent a chunk of time out there helping people who could move no farther. The highway was closed for a time and we didn’t know if Laurinda and Makiya would be able to make it in from Caronport.)
Yesterday, Gerry and I were outm and I saw Santa walking down Main Street. Gerry informed me that it wasn’t the “real” Santa, but one of his helpers. 🙂
As I write this, it’s 10:50 a.m. on Saturday morning. Gerry is out for a short hike with his group. Molly is wandering around, looking for trouble, and wanting me to pick her up so she can have a snooze in my lap.
In a breach of Hoye family protocol, the television is on in the daytime. I’m hoping that if Molly gets more accustomed to it she’ll stop barking when we’re actually trying to watch something in the evening.
I just finished washing the floor, so it seems as good a time as any to grab my Kindle and sit down with Miss Molly while she naps. On the other hand, the dryer just stopped, so I should grab the sheets and make the bed. Oh, and I just noticed my pup has finally curled up in her bed for a sleep. As soon as I move, she’ll wake up. I suppose making the bed first makes the most sense. By then, it’ll almost be time for Gerry to get home and we’ll enjoy a game of chess with lunch (which, by the way, will be one of the big and delicious cinnamon buns he picked up from the bakery yesterday—not especially nutritious but it’s Christmas after all). Thinking I better grab my Kindle and get some reading time in while the gettin’s good.
Okay, decision made. I’m off to read for a bit.
Hope you’re enjoying your day too!
