Joy

I wake with anticipation: our girls arrive today! The quiet contemplation of Advent is about to give way to the joy of Christmas as seen through the eyes of a child.

In these quiet, solitary, early moments of the day, I rest in gratitude. This dark December season has been a sweet one, and I am in awe of the One whose coming we prepare to celebrate.

Now, we transition to something different for the remaining days of this year—a season of celebration and rejoicing. Joy to the world, the Lord is come!

I’m over at the Inscribe Writers Online blog (https://inscribewritersonline.blogspot.com/2018/12/the-middle-place-guest-post-by-linda.html) today, reflecting on the discomfort of Advent.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.
