Let the Painting Begin!

It’s Tuesday, but feels like Monday. Yesterday was Family Day, and a holiday, here in Saskatchewan and many other Canadian provinces. The girls came for dinner and we enjoyed rousing games of cribbage and Kamloopsopoly before digging into one of Makiya’s favourite meals—African sweet potato stew and naan bread.

Every day’s a holiday when you’re retired, but I still feel the shift when the week starts with an official one. This week will seem short as a result, but also long. Painters arrive today to do all the baseboards and the walls in the main area downstairs, repaint a couple of dark gray feature walls upstairs so they blend in with everything else, and freshen the walls in the main living area that are in need of attention. They estimate being here for five days; I’m hoping for less.

We’ve entered another cold snap, so I’ll spend most of the week in my woman cave reading and writing, tending to Story Circle Network business, and staying out of their way. Not a bad thing at all. Pretty nice, actually.

  1. I’m to a point where I’d like to have most of the rooms in this house re-painted but hesitate because of the cost [obviously] but also because I can’t decide if I’d actually like new color on the walls, or if I’m fooling myself into thinking I would. ?

I have been staying in and getting a few projects done. Painting will wait until the gardens are planted and then we will get moving on doors, trim, and the deck.

    God bless.
