Everybody’s Talking

It’s Monday after a week of Makiya being off school for Easter break and we’re back on what seems like a bit of a treadmill today.

Gerry drove her to school, came home, and picked me up. I drove him to the rec center, then came home and got a few things done. I went out for a pedicure and came home; then picked Gerry up from the rec center and we both came home. Soon, I’ll head out to pick Makiya up from school in Caronport. We decided to see if we’re at the “one car” stage of life yet since we’re both retired and Moose Jaw isn’t a large city. We didn’t factor in grandparenting so it’s taking a little more juggling than first anticipated, but it’s totally doable.

Everybody is talking about the storm heading our way. Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement about the “significant spring storm set to bring a mix of rain and heavy snow to portions of southern Saskatchewan and southwestern Manitoba on Tuesday night through Thursday this week”. There seems to be some uncertainty about the storm’s location and severity, but we’re expecting precipitation tomorrow to turn to snow late in the day tomorrow, gusty winds, and some measure of accumulation of the white stuff. Sigh. Just when we thought we were in the clear.

Meanwhile, I found a new favourite spa and enjoyed a pedicure this morning and soon I’ll head off on prairie roads to pick Makiya up from school. All is right in my prairie world.
