Weekend Randomness

I’m tired. Bone-weary tired. Have I mentioned that lately? Smoke from wildfires has blown in, ushering in gray days that do little to help my weariness. It’s either time to push through or give in. The jury’s still out.

We ordered pizza for supper last evening. We had a free one thanks to rewards at one place, so decided to order the same kind from two places and do a taste test. Two of us preferred Pizza Hut, the other voted Dominos.

Gerry and I are mulling over plans for the backyard where a good chunk of grass is either dead or dying, wasting water on trying to revive a lawn that serves no real function seems silly. We’re leaning toward gravel and raised garden beds. We’ll see.

I’m busy behind the scenes with two writing organizations I’m a member of.

Story Circle Network helps “women become the author of their lives.” I’ve been a member and board member for about 15 years.

I joined the InScribe Christian Writers’ Fellowship when we returned to Canada. InScribe “ministers to Canadian Christian writers by stimulating, supporting, and encouraging them in the advancement of their writing”.

Have I told you I started writing on SubStack? My plan is to publish a faith-based piece once a month there. If you subscribe, you’ll receive it in your email.

Painting has taken a backseat these days. I’ll dabble (or not) in the next few months, but am more inclined to enjoy puttering outside or enjoying time on the deck with a good book in summer. I intend to spend a good chunk of time exploring and appreciating the beautiful Wakamow Valley  in the coming months too.

What else?

Not much, really. I’m looking at my calendar and there are things happening this week. Tuesday is going to be a good day. Friday and Saturday too. Heck, so is Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Life is, after all and often, what we make of it, doncha think?

Well, that’s about as much randomness as I can muster for now. Church this morning, maybe I’ll watch an episode of Portrait Artist of the Year this afternoon which, in my present state, will probably lull me into a nap. Chess. Reading. Puttering. Figuring out what to make for supper and making said meal (granddaughter’s night to cook tomorrow—hurray!).

Have a good Sunday, friends.
