It’s another cold day (-27C when I got up this morning) here in Saskatchewan, but rumour has it tomorrow is actually going to be above freezing. May it be so.
We watched the gold medal men’s hockey game this morning and cheered on our Canadian team. It was an exciting game even though our team lost to the U.S. in overtime.
The game ended in time for us to get to church on time where many of us commiserated over the loss. There’s always next time.
Popping in for an edition of Sunday Stealing because who doesn’t enjoy a bit of word association?
Word Association. Share what comes to mind when you hear the word …
1. Biscuit. Cookie. We watch a lot of British television and have become accustomed to some of the different words they use for things.
2. Crayon. Crayola. The de facto standard, right?
3. Warmth. I want some! Is it spring yet?
4. Flip. Flop. I don’t wear them, but can’t wait to don my Birkenstocks again. In fact, I might tomorrow, as I’m going for a pedicure.
5. Slush. 7-11. I don’t think I’ve ever had a 7-11 slushy and probably never will, but that’s what came to mind.
6. Wing. And a prayer. I’m a planner—obsessive, at times—so it’s amusing to me that this popped into my head.
7. Candle. Beeswax. I like to have a lit candle on the corner of my desk when I’m writing or painting.
8. Cinnamon. Toast. I’ve been craving some for days.
Popping over to see what some of you thought of with these words.

Several people said wing and a prayer, I noted.
What’s that saying about greatest minds thinking alike?! 😁
Yeah, DEFINITELY cinnamon toast, though I haven’t had it in decades!
Neither have I, but I’m getting closer to making a couple of slices!
Interesting match up.
God bless.
Curious how the mind works, isn’t it?
Hi Linda…..I liked the words post. It’s good to always think of words since we are writers! Thanks for your visits and comments on Writing Straight from the Heart! So nice to have you stop by and comment. Susan
Exactly! Thanks for coming by, Susan.
Biscuit with jelly, Crayon colors, warmth…a hot rice bag:),Flip flop I cannot wear them anything between my toes makes me light headed and I want to pass out, slush most of the area parking lots and if it is not slush it is frozen, wing…beautiful birds, candle…stinky things that make my husband short of breath, cinnamon rolls!
That’s fascinating about how you can’t wear anything between your toes. Now that you mention it, we’ve got slush today too—much to the dismay of my husband who just took the car through the car wash.
